Sleep Like A Rocker
That's the name of our new album. We're back from the studio with lead vocal tracks completed for what Salem calls the first 6 of the 4th. We'll be editing them and adding background vox, more guitars and some other tasty bits over the next while. Meanwhile Salem has written some more pure rock and we're rehearsing those. What's really exciting is the fact that Jones is writing as a band too and the results of that spells Big Rock!

Here are some shots of us doing our thing!

New Jones T-Shirt Art
The artwork for the new t-shirts is ready! It was created by Belgium-based artist and Jones fan Michael Van Nuffel. Click here to see it.

Lovin' The Past

Jones At MountainStock 2 In Canmore Alberta
Join us if you can this Sat. Jan. 12/08 at the Radisson Hotel Ballroom in Canmore, Alberta where we’ll have the privilege of headlining the second annual MountainStock benefit festival for Victims of Violence. We’re pumped about presenting some new Jones material (as well as a few old faves) with Calgary bassist Rodney Hunter and drummer Darren Kopas for this show! This rhythm section cooks with fire so you don’t want to miss them.

We go on around 11:30pm but keep in mind that there are some fabulous acts playing there throughout the day.

Namaste!

"Are You Jag The Amp Guy?"
Jag has just returned from the Gov't Mule concert in Vancouver where he was informed by Brian Farmer (Warren Haynes’s personal tech) that Warren loves the amp Jag built for him and in fact used it on a recording with Carlos Santana! So when you pick up Carlos’s new CD, you’ll get a little piece of MAW (Mollerup Amp Works).

By the way, that headline is from an inquiry Jag recently received in an email from a complete stranger! It seems his reputation for creating fine, custom built tube amplifiers is growing.

Five Jones Songs in Rotation on iRadioLA
Check us out on iRadioLA, L.A.’s premiere internet radio station! They’re putting five of our songs into rotation any day now.

And keep an eye on indieguitarists.com where we’ll soon be added to their weekly playlist.

Does Jag Ever Sleep!?!?!
Well, Jag’s star is rising! We were just out in Vancouver where he presented Warren Haynes (of Government Mule and The Allman Bros Band) with one of his prototype amplifier designs, called The Jagster. Jag’s amps sound incredible and we’re hoping Warren finds room on the next GM album for it. We caught both GM shows at the Commodore Ballroom and what a phenomenal band. Unfortunately we don’t have a photo of Jag handing off the amp to Warren since the green room and the rest of the backstage area was way too dark and it just didn’t seem right to insist a guitar god step out onto Granville St. for better lighting…! But we do have some pics of this: Jag was also in Vancouver last August for Guitar Workshop Plus where he was playing with and/or learning from masters like Robben Ford and Dave Sinclair (whom we’re REALLY hoping will be producing our next CD). Dave liked Jag’s playing so much that he used him for a one-man rhythm section. We’re not surprised since we’ve been partaking of Jag’s rock solid work for years! Keep an eye on the Gallery page for some pics of "Jag's Excellent Vancouver Adventure".

DVD Shoot
BIG thanks to everyone who came out and supported us for the DVD/video shoot on April 16/05. It was a complete success! The band rocked and you fancam shooters took footage that was completely comparable to the pros.

We’re baring all, so here’s a rough clip of Dog Nose Woman from that night.

Shakin' Video Shoot
Here are some pics from one of the video shoots from our first CD Shakin' Off The Day.

Shakin' Off The Day - Edmonton CD Release Concert
The official Shakin’ Off The Day Edmonton CD Release was held at the Francis Winspear Centre for Music.

By all reports, it was a success in spite of technical problems. Lighting Director Kelly Morris was the pro that he alwaya is, and our own Jag was the technical genius as usual.

The crowd surpassed all previous shows in numbers and energy. Once again the Progressive Combat Academy was the hit of the night. (The band believes that they were behind BOTH encores!) Salem thanks the cosmos that she wrote Heaven 6, the PCA’s adopted anthem. Asked about the song she only smiles and offers, "... music to soothe the savage ...".

Warm-up act Marcus Wasnea was very well-received.

Here are some pics from the show ...

Shakin' Off The Day - Jasper CD Release Concert
The Jasper CD Release for Shakin’ Off The Day was a rousing success even though bad weather and extortion — ask one of the band members about that when you see them — tried to shut it down. In an interview about the show, Salem said "great crowd, big noise, 2 encores — what more could we ask for?" Progressive Combat Academy was in attendance and could be heard over the rest of the crowd all night long. Man, those guys have lungs!! They promised to show up at more shows so everyone be ready.

Have a look at some photos of the event taken by Jaroslaw Malanowski.
